Simton IPX supports Aastra, Linksys, and Simton IPF phones. From the IP phones, user can issue commands to get services from the IPX. Some common commands are:
• *25 Extension announcement
• *26 Voice/Sound recording
• *28 Replace default PBX greeting
• *61 Pickup other ringing phone
• *77 Access voice mailbox
Alternatively, the IP phones can offer some common features such as call hold, call transfer, 3-way calls. The article summaries the operating sequences of these services on the supported IP phones.

IPF71
Call Hold:
While you are having conversation on Line1, you press “HOLD” button to hold the party on Line1. Then you can receive calls or make calls using Line2. Press Line1 to remove the holding status on Line1 and resume the conversation with the party on Line1.

Call Transfer:
When you receive a call and you need to transfer it to another extension, you can press “TRANSFER” button to get dial tone and input the number of the extension. When you hear ring back, you can hang up. The original caller and the extension can start a conversation if the extension is picked up.

Three-way Conference:
During a conversation on Line1, you press “CONF” to get dial tone on Line2, you dial another number and talk to the third person. You press “CONF” to start three-way conference.

IPF73
Call Hold:
During a call, you press “HOLD” key to place the caller on hold. Then you can make calls or receive calls on other lines. To resume the conversation with the caller on hold, you press “HOLD” key again, or press the Line key, or press Resume soft key.

Call Transfer:
During a call, you press “Transfer” key to caller on hold and to get dial tone. You can input the third party’s number followed with “#”, you press “Transfer” key again or the Send soft key and then you hang up.

Three-way Conference:
During a call with the first party, you press the Conf. soft key, the call is put hold. You can make a new a call with third party with Send soft key. After the third party answers, you press the Conf. soft key again to add all parties into the conference call.

Linksys
Call Hold:
During a call on Line1, you can press Line2 key to receive calls or to make calls. The caller on Line1 is put on hold automatically and the line key will be blinking. To resume conversation with the first caller, press the blinking line key again.

Call Transfer:
When you receives a call from party A, press soft key “Transfer”, and input party C’s number, and press Dial soft key, or “#”. Then you press “Transfer” again and hang up. The party A can have a conversation with the party C.

Three-way Conference:
Have a call with party A. Press Conf, input party’ C’s number with “#”. After the party C answers, press Conf again and all three parties can enter into a conference call.

Aastra
Call Hold:
During a call on Line1, (select Line1 using direction key), press Hold. You can select Line2 to receive calls or make calls. To resume the call on Line1, select Line1 and press Hold key again.

Call Transfer:
During a call, press soft key “Xfer” and then dial the destination number, after it rings, press “Xfer” again and hang up, then the caller can have a call with the destination phone.

Three-way Conference:
During a call with party A, press Conf soft key, get dial tone. Dial party C, after connected to party C, press Conf soft key again.
